The Future of English Language Teaching Starts Here

U.S. - Russia English Language Exchange (ELEX) Program will bring two cohorts of English Language Teachers to participate in a two-week exchange in the U.S. to engage in cultural and academic activities, workshops, and site visits to schools, community colleges and universities. Teachers will also participate in either the SXSW EDU in Austin, Texas in March 2025 or the ISTELive Edtech conference in San Antonio, Texas in July 2025.

The U.S. - Russia English Language Exchange program is a unique opportunity for Russian teachers to improve their English language pedagogy and acquisition, gain first-hand experience with American educational institutions, and better understand American culture and values. 

We’re excited to announce that ELEX application portals are now open.

The application is due November 24th, 2024.

ELEX Participants will:

  • Attend the SXSW EDU in Austin, Texas, or the ISTELive Edtech conference in San Antonio, Texas. These conventions are the premier events for English language teaching professionals, and they offer a unique opportunity to learn about the latest trends, research, and best practices in the field.

  • Participate in workshops, trainings, and site visits to engage with, learn from, and share best practices with U.S. peers which helps to gain new insights into English language teaching and to develop their professional skills.

  • Visit private and public two-year and four-year degree colleges , as well as an American high school. This will provide a first-hand look at American educational institutions and will help to understand the American educational system.

  • Network with American peers at conferences, workshops, and site visits which facilitates building relationships with American counterparts and creating new collaborations, partnerships, and professional opportunities.

  • Visit museums in Washington, DC to learn about American history and culture.
